02.27 - Thesis, Main Ideas, Outlines

At the beginning of class today, everyone had 20 minutes to work on their summary notecards for the background section of their public figure project. After 20 minutes, we came back together as a class and I reviewed how to write a thesis and main ideas and then how to use these in creating an outline. Notes from this discussion are below as is a video reviewing how to create an outline in NoodleTools.

How to create an outline in NoodleTools (video):

(the video was created with another class so some of the finer points may relate more closely to that project, but how to create an outline in NoodleTools remains the same).

Everyone then had the rest of the period to complete their notecards. Homework this weekend is creating an outline of the background section.

Notecard Requirements:
10 notecards total
     3 summary notecards
     2 paraphrase notecards
     2 quotation notecards
3 free choice notecards (summary, paraphrase, or quotation)

Everyone then had the rest of the period to work on their notecards. I was on hand to answer questions and went around to check in with students.
